Porta Press

Custom Tooling for Enhanced Production Productivity

Precision Tooling Redefined

The Porta Press is a versatile production workhorse. Weighing just 150 lbs, it replaces massive 1,000 lb OBI presses for light-duty punching, offering a tabletop design that conforms to your workspace—not the other way around.

Feature Porta Press Traditional OBI
Mobility Portable (150 lbs) Permanent (1,000 lbs+)
Vertical Adjust 5" Range (10" Max) 2" Average
Tool Change Quick 2-Minute Change Extensive Realignment
Maintenance Virtually Maintenance-Free Requires Clutch/Mechanical Care

Core Advantages

Safety First

Instant retraction of the cylinder when the foot pedal is released protects operators, products, and equipment from misfire.

Modular Versatility

Install as a single station or in a "Gang Buster" multi-unit array for complex, cell-based manufacturing.

Zero Jamming

Unlike eccentric rams, the pneumatic design prevents jamming at the bottom of the stroke, ensuring continuous uptime.

Easy Hookup

A simple air compressor and quick-connect hose are all that's required to begin high-tonnage production.

Porta Press Technical FAQ

1. What is the C-frame clearance and width?
Standard opening at the back is 6". Standard width is 6.5" internal (10.5" external). We can customize internal width to meet specific tonnage requirements.
2. How long does delivery take?
C-frame and ram assemblies typically ship in 14 days. Custom tooling is quoted per job based on complexity.
3. What is the total weight and footprint?
The unit weighs 150-175 lbs. Our optional bench weighs 75 lbs, stands 34" high (working height ~38"), and has an 18" square footprint.
4. How is tooling attached and adjusted?
We use a Quick Change Die Block format. Align the tool once, bolt it to the block, and thereafter no alignment is required—simply slide it into the press and secure with side set screws. The stroke range is adjusted by spinning the cylinder (5" travel) and locking it with a collar.
